Vision
To be the nation’s centre of excellence for artillery heritage.
Mission
To collect, conserve, interpret and exhibit artefacts, documents and stories that inspire a wide audience to discover, enjoy and learn about artillery, the Royal Artillery and their place in history.
Strategic Objectives
In working towards our Vision and Mission, we are guided by five Strategic Objectives:
- Collection - care for and actively manage our collection to the highest professional standards.
- Story - tell a diverse, global story with broad appeal, encompassing the purpose, development and use of artillery, the history of the Royal Artillery and the personal stories of Gunners.
- Engagement - make artillery heritage accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, actively taking steps to diversify our organisation and audiences, and encouraging wide-ranging engagement and participation.
- Regiment - strengthen our connection with serving and retired Gunners and their families, and support the RA Heritage Strategy.
- Museum - create a dynamic, welcoming and financially sustainable museum, providing a long-term home for our collection, a focus for public engagement, and space for the work of our staff and volunteers.
Values
Our Values underpin our behaviour, the way we work, and the relationships we build with our colleagues, stakeholders and the wider public:
- Honest – we strive to be open, straightforward and truthful in all that we do.
- Welcoming – we encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to get involved in Gunner heritage.
- Collaborative – we achieve more by working together, as a team and with our partners.
- Innovative - we are creative and flexible in seeking new ideas, solutions and opportunities.
- Continually improving – we challenge ourselves to learn, develop and progress, individually and as a team.
