While a number of our vehicles are self-propelled guns which fall under the Guns and Mortars category, we also hold many that illustrate other aspects of the Royal Artillery’s diverse capabilities. These include aircraft used by the Regiment for observation and target acquisition, from the Auster through to unmanned systems such as Phoenix, Desert Hawk and Hermes 450. There are also artillery tractors, observation post and command post vehicles, and logistics and support vehicles.

Other equipment held in the collection includes radar units such as Green Archer, communications systems and some of the first computers designed to coordinate and control artillery fire. There are WW2 anti-aircraft trackers and searchlights and, from earlier periods, a wide variety of compasses, telescopes, sights, range finders and other instruments.
